Event Details
Explore the fascinating world of Braille through interactive stations designed for all ages. Discover the history, purpose, and modern-day applications of Braille while engaging in hands-on activities. Attendees can learn the Braille alphabet, try their hand at reading tactile books, and even create their names in Braille. This self-paced program promotes awareness and understanding of how Braille empowers visually impaired individuals. A video with Braille facts and insights will also be available for viewing. No registration is required.
(Please note: This year’s Braille Awareness event is designed primarily for sighted participants as an introduction to learning about Braille. However, individuals who are blind or have low vision are warmly welcomed to join us. Our goal is to better understand the Blind and Low Vision communities so we can offer inclusive programs in the future. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue on our journey toward greater inclusion and diversity.)
