Growing Early Literacy Skills Through Books - A Workshop for Early Childhood Educators

Building on the strengths and experiences of early childhood educators, this workshop explores practical strategies for using books with the children in their care in order to build and strengthen early literacy skills.

Educators can earn 2 State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) by attending this program.

This workshop is intended for early childhood educators, such as day care workers, teachers, child care providers, and library staff, who are interested in expanding their skills to support early literacy and development in young children. 

Please note: This workshop is designed specifically for professionals and is not intended for parents or caregivers.

Accessibility Note: This event will take place in the Youth Activity Room, located approximately 190 feet from the front entrance of the library. The nearest restroom is a family restroom located about 20 feet from the room, which may be occupied at times. The nearest alternate restroom is approximately 190 feet away toward the front of the library. Lights will be at full brightness. Participants are welcome to enter and exit the space at any time based on their needs and comfort. However, to be eligible to receive State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs), attendees must be present for the majority of the program.
