Event Details
Novi Public Library is very excited to host this global phenomenon on calling attention to our prejudices and preconceived biases, that as humans we all inhabit in one way or another.
Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000, the HUMAN LIBRARY is now hosted globally in over 80 countries. The model is that each person sharing their story is a book and, like in a library, the book can be checked out for a short time, generally 30 minutes, by our patrons as readers. Each “book” has a specific title and will be read about the experience in that topic. The reader interacts with the “book”, asking questions in order to gain a deeper understanding about the books personal experiences.
You are invited to be a reader for our first Human Library. Each reading will be about 30 minutes long so be curious, and ask questions. Walk In's are welcome.
The event will be happening on November 9, and it will run from 11 am to 4 pm.
