POW Camps in Michigan During WWII

Join us as the Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial presents Gregory Sumner,  co-chair of the Department of History at the University of Detroit Mercy. Greg will talk about the POW camps that were in Michigan during WWII, housing both German and Italian prisoners of war. It's a fascinating story of how they were put to work picking beets, cleaning parks, cutting pulpwood and so much more all while forming enduring friendships  with their captors.
