Event Details
Reality Check is a program that MSUFCU created to give students a realistic understanding of how much life costs when you get into the workforce and start paying your own bills. Participants will choose a career and be given a budget sheet that will list the occupation and entry level salary. This budget has a breakdown of taxes, insurance and even student loans. During the class, we will visit 16 “life booths” where students will have to make decisions about what to purchase in life. Some of the booths include: housing, transportation, dependent care, food, technology, clothing, and even furniture. This helps to reinforce all the teaching and understanding of financial education.
